  1. Shawnie- Maddie Jeppson's mom, I just wanted to stop by and let you know what an example you are. All of the years Maddie went to Edith Bowen with you I never saw you without seeing that beautiful smile of yours. I was always so impressed that despite all your health challenges you have kept such a sweet happy spirit. We love you- Good luck tomorrow. If you feel like a visitor...Maddie would love to come keep you company!

  3. Dearest, Sweet Shawnie! Oh, how we love you. I think so often about the opportunity I had to substitute in your Sunday School class earlier this year. Your comments were so thoughtful and inspiring. You are a very special young lady. My children LOVE to see you rolling down the hallway at church - it makes them so happy!
This is a pretty hard thing you're about to endure. It's okay to know that it's hard and it's okay to be nervous. Heavenly Father gave you all those emotions and He loves you! One thing that you can always remember, though, is that He also gave you the ability to do HARD THINGS. You can do it with help from Jesus and help from all the people who love you so much.

You are such a wonderful, inspirational young woman, Shawnie! We are praying for you. We love you!

  4. Shawnie,

We are thinking of you and every time I do it makes me smile... I smile cause your spirit doesn't fit into your body and just floods over into all the people you surround yourself with.

You are tough and have already done really hard things and will continue to grow and meet your challenges head on. You are stronger than you realize but you show it through your hard work, tears and optimism. This will pass and soon be a memory and it will just be one more thing you push through.

On the other hand it totally SUCKS (Sorry Mel...) LoL but it does BUT We LOVE You!!!! Oh SOooooooo Much.... We will Pray all day and night for you and your family to have the strength, trust and faith in Heavenly Father and that you can have peace and Comfort... You should think of something really cool you have been wanting and then work the magic and get the family to get it for you.... seriously.. I'll help! ;-) ((((HUGS)))) LOVE YOU!!!!

  5. Shawnie you are in our thoughts! A scripture that always helps me is: D&C 123:17
Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.
To me this is God saying, "leave it in my hands and trust me". I hope the surgery goes well. I am sorry you have to go through this!

  6. Shawnie, I'm reading all these comments about your inspirational comments and such, and I can't help be think to myself... I've failed. I've tried to teach you everything I know about being stubborn, sarcastic and difficult but it doesn't look like it has stuck. Oh well, I'll have to try harder the next time we see each other. Here's a couple of things you can do to use this situation to your advantage:

    * Ask your Dad to bring your favorite foods, candy and/or flowers every day (Pink flowers because you like pink) and if he hesitates, just give them the sad pouty look that I taught you and say: "But I'm in the hospital don't you love me anymore?". He won't be able to resist.
    * Ask your Mom to double your Christmas presents this year. If she says no, remind her that you deserve them for all that you are going through.
    * Being in the hospital gives you the awesome opportunity to be stubborn and sarcastic to everyone and not get in trouble. What good person would scold such a sweet girl in the hospital? Just don't be mean to your doctors until you get out of surgery. You might end up with a horses' tail sewn on to your bum or a third arm sticking out of your head. But that could be useful (the arm... not the tail), you could pat yourself on the back or bop someone else on the head while you were folding your arms and glaring at them. On second thought maybe I should get one of those (again, the arm... not the tail).

Just remember you are in the unique position that most other people can only dream of. You can get away with anything right now! I'll be thinking of you.

  19. Hi Shawnie!
This is Emily Francis. My mom showed this to me and I wanted to say I hope your surgery goes well. I have been praying every night for you. You have been an amazing example in my life. I was sad that a week before I joined activity days you turned 12 and started Young Womens. So I never got to be with you. You have so many friends that have all prayed for you, that Heavenly Father will help you go through the surgery safely.
    Love, Emily Francis :)

I think my favorite time was when I heard you laughing so hard, or the sound of your wheelchair in the hallways and I really miss the smile that you pull off even when you are sad and crying.
I hope that your surgery goes well.

  22. Hey Shawnie! It's Skye, I hope you recover fast so I can see your bright smile again! You have been such a great example to me and I appreciate you so much! When I was getting ready to do my surgery for my cancer earlier this year I was feeling sorry for myself, but then I thought of all the surgeries and operations you've had to go through and it gave me peace and comfort that I would be fine. All throughout my treatments I thought of you and how you've been able to smile and be happy even though you've had to go through so much pain. You helped me so much and I can't thank you enough! Please get better soon so I can continue to learn from you! D&C 84:88 is a great scripture, if you have time you should look it up. It has given me a lot of comfort and advice and I know if you look carefully it will help you too!
I love you lot's Shawnie and so does our Heavenly Father! He is SOO proud of you and will continue to be with you throughout your life. Get well soon!
    Love, Skye Cole =D
